Turkish Competition Board initiated an investigation on July 3rd, 2017 concerning GSM operators Turkcell İletişim Hizmetleri A.Ş., Vodafone Telekomünikasyon A.Ş. and Avea İletişim Hizmetleri A.Ş. following a preliminary inquiry based on an allegation that those undertakings complicated activities of their rivals by submitting bids below short message termination rates during bulk short message tenders. The investigation, initiated by the decision numbered 17-20/313-M, aims to determine whether Article 6 of the Competition Act No. 4054 prohibiting abuse of dominant position has been violated.
