Turkish Competition Board has initiated an investigation on 3 May 2018 on Koninklijke Philips N.V. and Türk Philips Ticaret A.Ş. following a preliminary inquiry based on an allegation that Koninklijke Philips N.V. acted against its commitment submitted to the relevant standard-setting organisation to license its patents regarding the standard for subtitle technology on fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND) terms.
