The European Commission has fined Google € 4.37 billion due to abuse of its dominant position especially by
- requiring Android device manufacturers to preinstall Google search app and Chrome browser app as a condition for licensing Google’s Play Store,
- making payments to certain Android device manufacturers and mobile network operators in return for preinstalling Google search app in an exclusive manner, and
- preventing Android device manufacturers from selling smart mobile devices with alternative Android versions not approved by Google.
