Turkish Competition Board fined Google

Following the investigation to assess whether conduct regarding mobile operating system and provision of mobile applications and services of the economic unit, composed of Google LLC, Google International LLC and Google Reklamcılık ve Pazarlama Ltd. Şti., and the agreements signed between the mentioned economic unit and mobile device manufacturers had infringed the Competition Act No. 4054, the Turkish Competition Board decided that Google economic unit abused its dominance contrary to Article 6 of the Competition Act. As a result, the Turkish Competition Board fined Google LLC, Google International LLC and Google Reklamcılık ve Pazarlama Ltd. Şti. a total of TL 93,083,422.30. In addition to fine, the Turkish Competition Board imposed behavioural remedies on Google economic unit to terminate the violation and reinstate effective competition in the market.
